Barbara Legate completed her law degree at the University of Western Ontario in 1979. After finishing the bar admission courses and a year of articling she was called to the bar on April 15,1981. Her first position was as an associate with a Woodstock Ontario law firm where she quickly rose to the position of partner and remained so for 15 years.

Having acquired the designation 'certified civil litigation specialist' in 1993 Ms Legate moved her practice to London Ontario in 1997. Legate & Associates was formed in 1999 and has since grown to the present firm. Along the way it has developed a reputation as Southwestern Ontario's leading personal injury law firm among its peers and as a thorough, caring and effective advocate among its clientele.
